چکیده

This contribution is concerned with vibration rejection by nonlinear control techniques in steel industry, particularly in rolling mill plants. The high quality requirements of rolled products, especially in relation to the thickness tolerances, mean a challenging task also from a control point of view. The key part of this contribution deals with so-called wrapper rolls as well as chatter vibration phenomena. With regard to the control design a mathematical model based on physical considerations is introduced where the essential nonlinearities of the system are taken into account. For the purpose of vibration rejection two nonlinear control concepts based on energy considerations and the theory of differential flatness are presented. Copyright c ©2005 IFAC

The Comparative Study of Vibration Control of Flexible Structure Using Smart Materials

Considerable attention has been devoted to active vibration control using intelligent materials as PZT actuators. This paper presents results on active control schemes for vibration suppression of flexible steel cantilever beam with bonded piezoelectric actuators. The PZT patches are surface bonded near the fixed end of flexible steel cantilever beam. The dynamic model of the flexible steel can...

Adaptive Narrow Band Disturbance Rejection in Active Vibration Control

This paper presents a methodology for feedback adaptive control of active vibration attenuation systems in the presence of unknown narrow band disturbances. The proposed methodology consists in two algorithms based on the Internal Model Principle. The first one deals with an indirect adaptive control, the second one with a direct adaptive control. The feasibility of the two algorithms is illust...

The effect of semi-active controller in Sirri jacket seismic vibration control

The Sirri jacket offshore platform was designed and installed in Persian gulf of Iran in 1975 and has been in service since that time. The importance of offshore structure's stability and the failure of this kind of structure during an earthquake in different active zones revealed that earthquake loading has to be considered. In this paper, Magnetorheological (MR) fluid dampers have been propos...

An active vibration control system as a benchmark for adaptive regulation (rejection of unknown-time varying narrow band disturbances)

The adaptive regulation is an important issue with a lot of potential for applications in active vibration control and active noise control. The basic problem from the ”control system” point of view is the rejection of multiple unknown and time varying narrow band disturbances without using an additional transducer for getting informations upon the disturbances. An adaptive feedback approach ha...

Experimental Evaluation of a New Active Vibration Control Algorithm

This work deals with little mock up experimentations of a vibration rejection algorithm. In a first time, bases of the algorithm are presented. Next section is devoted to the description of the prototype used to validate the process. Then, the settling of the algorithm using Matlab Simulink XPC Target is described and experimental results are presented and commented. From these results, future ...
